We have been working on a full restoration for the last year – an early Bay Dormobile – and the project is now reaching a very exciting stage when all the hard work starts to come together. The restoration has been commissioned by Gecko Campers in Brighton and will soon have a new life on the south coast.
The engine has been cleaned and refurbished and has now come to life!
We were delighted to be invited back to the Vintage Nostalgia Show again this year. The show takes place in the beautiful setting of Stockton Park in the Wylye Valley where the sun always seems to shine! The show attracts vintage car owners as well as a whole array of farm machinery, clothing and accessories reminding people of a certain age all about their childhoods. Everyone came in costumes from the ’40′s, ’50′s and ’60′s and it was just a great excuse to dress up. Fantastic live music and dancing all weekend – just great fun!
A few years ago Rog did most of the restoration work on this Crew Cab including converting it from Left Hand Drive to Right Hand Drive and fitting a Rack & Pinion Steering system. Good to see the van has come back for a few running repairs.
As proud classic vehicle owners ourselves, we understand what great fun they can be when all is working well. But many of these vehicles are 40 or even 50 years old and there is nothing worse than the hassle and stress when things go wrong.
That’s where we come in…
Here at VW Camper and Classic Repairs we like to take a different approach. We run through each step of the repair process , fix the problems you want solved and only perform repairs with your approval. Find out more here
Rog recently got out his quill pen and, using his best joined up writing, wrote to the VolksWorld Magazine letters page…This is the letter wot he wrote:
I took these photos in 1967, when I was 13 and lived in Hanworth. I regularly cycled over to see the buggies being built: 552 GRR was GP’s own promo vehicle and KCH 959 belonged to a member of staff.
Due to my lifelong interest in VWs I have recently opened my own workshop restoring and repairing all types of VWs situated in Longbridge Deverill, Wiltshire. Our company is called VW Camper & Classic Repairs.
We were really pleased to take part in the Vintage Nostalgia Show this year at Stockton Park in the Wylye valley, Wiltshire. Fashion blogger Adora Mehitabel spotted our van and used it as the backdrop for a photo shoot…
